First week - Trbovlje

Excited to move from our countries and courious to discover what was waiting for us,ten volunteers of the project “There is a world outside your window”,we prepared our suitcases,said bye bye to family and friends and one by one we arrived to Ljubjana.

The first of us who arrived in the city was Andreas,the guy from Cyprus.He was so excited to meet the organizer of our project Maja and the coordinator Heidi.After hours around Ljubjana they went to the train station to wait for another volunteer.It was the first time in Ljubjana for the two volunteers,Aida and Andreas and they went to discover this beautiful city,when they drank “Lasko” the great Slovenian beer.:)A bit tired they came back to the train station because it was time for the Italian girl to arrive.After one hour the rest of the group joined them.Six young people from Estonia and Finland were flying together from Helsinki and during the long flight ,Ka Di,Carlos,Tomas,Joona,Laura and Lembi,they had time to talk about their countries and to discover how closed estonian and finish languages are.At seven o’clock our group was together but one of the volunteers Jessica,the Portuguese girl,couldn’t be there because her flight was deleted. It wasn’t the best experience for her but sometimes things happen.;)

In the evening we moved to Trbovlje,a nice city, one hour away from Ljubjana.A lot of questions in our mind,how is this city?How is the Youth Hostel,there are other people there?How are our rooms,how big are they?We answered to these questions once that we arrived in an amazing hostel,full of young people,good music,a new building and nice colors in our big rooms.Since the beginning Trbovlje was a familiar place for us.:)The day after we played some games that helped us to know more about each other and spent good time together.After two days Jessica joined us .We were courious to know more about this girl that was always with her camera taking pictures of the city and of us.On Wednesday we visited MC Zagorje and we spent very good time during the cooking workshop with PUM and after this ,in the afternoon our time was dedicated to another activity, social media workshop with PUNKT in Trbovje.On Friday it was a special day,not only for us but for all the people in Ljubjana.A dialogue with EU Commissioner Violeta Bulc and for us it was a great experience to be there,is one of things that don’t happen everyday.On Saturday we passed a nice afternoon on the Fairytale Festival when you saw such a beautiful Slovenian children acting and dancing for us.One week ran out and on Sunday we should prepared our suitcase and continue our travel in Krško.Of course,Trbovlje and the week that we spent there is in our memories and our heart.
